We started in 1954 as mechanical workshop for third party machining and since then we have continued to grow with a closer look at the technological innovations and to the global market development.
After some years the company changed its structure and in 1979 Giancarlo Cella took over the company that was moved to San Nicolò where it is still located.
Giancarlo will manage the company by making it grows in terms of employees and turnover. During those first few years, the number of customers increased and new machines were introduced to adapt the company to the requirements of the market.
The company begins to be recognized in the market as a specialized manufacturer in the production of fittings for the Oil&Gas sector, operating mainly on order basis.
During these years, the company started targeting foreign market through agents and sales representatives. The new market demands require important adaptations regarding the production and quality aspects.
The CNC machine was introduced.
La Meccanica Padana was also one of the first companies in Piacenza to introduce IT as an important tool for management and business organization.
The company was constantly growing and established itself in the market as a strategic partner granting high quality. La Meccanica Padana received the first approvals from EPC and End Users and it was successfully approved by ARAMCO.
The company has always been characterized by Made in Italy, which has allowed to working with the best Italian and northern European forge and steel mills. Those suppliers still represent the only sources of raw material supply.
At the same time La Meccanica Padana turned its attention abroad, increasing the number of international customers.
In 2005 Paolo Cella, son of Giancarlo Cella, joined the company. After gaining sales and marketing experience in international companies, he has been appointed Sales Manager.
An important strategic change led the company to a complete organizational renewal, effectively addressing to End Users and EPCs in the Oil & Gas sector.
In 2006 the company obtained the ISO 9001 certification.
In 2011 Giancarlo Cella, who had led the company for over thirty years, disappeared. His son Paolo took over its management.
These years are characterized by a strong process and product innovation.
The innovative SPECTACular BLIND has been developed: a patented system designed from La Meccanica Padana, a new way to Easy and Quick Change Spectacle blinds mounted on the pipeline. A great competitive solution that allow saving time and costs.
La Meccanica Padana has installed a photovoltaic system defining itself as a “green company”. The company also has implemented automation by equipping robots for machine tools.
Following the automation process, in 2014 the company introduced a welding robot. In the same year, the company has been certified ISO-14001.
La Meccanica Padana has launched new ambitious improvement projects: the company has introduced LEAN Manufacturing and Paperless methodologies and uses CAD CAM technologies in an ever more systematic way.
